IOWA YOUNG WRITERS' STUDIO POETRY PRESENTATION
Saturday, June 20, approx 9:45pm (after the "Cyrano" performance)
Listen to new poems written by students from the UI Iowa Young Writers' Studio and the Iowa Youth Writing Project, performed by the students and the "Cyrano" actors.

POETRY ON STAGE
Wednesday, July 1, approx 9:00pm (after the "Cyrano" performance)
Come just to listen OR perform your own poetry on stage! 

Info for performing your own work:
“Performance poetry” uses the stage as the page, transforming poetry into theatre!  This celebration of the Spoken Word invites poetry of all kinds ~ free verse to sonnets, ballads to odes, limericks to love letters. 

GUIDELINES:
~open to ages 15-adult, all experience levels
~one poem per poet
~poem must be of the poet’s own construction
~performance time limited to 1-4 minutes
~language appropriate for an audience that includes both youth and adults
~memorization a bonus, but not required
