SUMMER


STAGE COMBAT FOR KIDS                    Teacher: Kelly Gibson
June 13, 10-12 am, grades 3-6
Tuition $25


HALF-DAY ACTING CLASSES, TAKE 1 OR BOTH!

CURRENT GRADES  5-7, June 22-26     
Tuition $110 per class.  Both classes for $200.

ACTING FUNNY, 10am-12pm            Teacher: Steven Marzolf


IMPROVISE!, 12:30-2:30pm                                  Teacher: Kelly Gibson

             
 
YOUNG PEOPLE’S INTENSIVE  Current grades 8-12
Tuition $165/wk (reduced tuition for additional weeks)
All classes meet 1:00-4:00 pm

Sign up for one week or all three of these interrelated classes for the serious young actor, taught by working theatre professionals.

TEACHING ARTISTS

KELLY GIBSON returns to Riverside’s teaching roster this summer - and to play Roxane in Cyrano.  She also appeared as Desdemona in last year’s Othello.  Her teaching experience includes working with K-college level students, both locally and internationally, as well as extensive work in theatre for social change programs.  She has taught youth classes at both Heart of America Shakespeare Festival and Colorado Shakespeare Festival.  Most recently, Kelly has been teaching theatre as a means for literacy with Sundog Theatre in Staten Island public schools.  Kelly has an MFA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, is a member of Actors’ Equity, and resides in New York City.

STEVEN MARZOLF, Equity actor, director and educator, performed last summer as Cassio in Othello and also directed both Green Shows.  His extensive teaching experience for both youth and adults includes The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, the University of Tulsa and TheatreSquared in Fayetville, Arkansas.  His regional acting credits include La Jolla Playhouse, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Steven has an MFA from the University of San Diego.


KATY SLAVEN has an MFA in Acting from Florida Atlantic University and a BA in Theatre from UNI. She has taught classes and led workshops for a range of ages at Florida Atlantic University, UNI, Webster City Community Theatre, Iowa Thespians Festival, and North Iowa Area Community College. Katy currently lives in Cedar Rapids with her son Jack, and works as a freelance actor/educator/collaborator. For more information about Katy, please visit www.katherineslaven.com
